Michel Elefteriades is a Lebanese citizen suffering from the acute syndrome of cultural statelessness. Painter. Holder of a diploma in fine arts. Unaccomplished musician. Obscure interpreter defying the rules of singing. Author of poems and two novels. Director of documentaries and video-clips.

 
Author and composer of more than 120 songs. Music producer and arranger. Founder and co-owner of Elef. Records, a Warner Music label, and of the Music Hall of Beirut, a 1,000-seat theatre venue specializing in cultural showbiz. Michel Elefteriades stands behind the most successful musical experiments in the Arab world in the last few years: Hanine y Son Cubano, Wadih el Safi in duo with Jose Fernandez, Nahawand & the Compa??a Garcia Lorca, Demis Roussos & the Oriental Roots Orchestra, Tony Hanna & the Yugoslavian Gipsy Brass Band … are a few of his creations. His latest activity is the creation of a new nation he called Nowheristan. The ceremony of proclamation of the nation received the support of the United Nations by the presence of the personal representative of Kofi Annan, Geir Pedersen; the representative of the UN in the Lebanon, Nejib Friji; and the newly appointed Minister of Culture, Dr. Tarek Mitri NOWHERISTAN. A new utopia: an alternative to escape from the monotonous political systems of the beginning of the 21st century.
