Professional Employment:
Dr. Kakiuchi has working experience in various positions in the Japanese government and international organizations, such as the Institutional Relations Officer of the United Nations University and the Inspector General’s office of the Ministry of Education(1999-2001), the Director of the Cultural Policy Planning Office of the Agency for Cultural Affairs (1996-1999) , and as Researcher of the Standing Committee on Education of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament (1989-1991). She also has teaching experience in several universities in Japan


Honors and Awards:
The Japanese Government Official Long-Term Fellowship (1983-1985)
The City Planning Institute of Japan Award (2002)

Member, Board of Directors, The Japan Association of Regional Policy

Research Interest:
1) quantitative evaluation of cultural value, 2) plural funding for non-profit organizations,
2) public policy in cultural promotion and heritage preservation.
