FU Jin
Chair Professor
National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts (Beijing)
Born in Quzhou City of Zhejiang Province in 1956, Fu Jin is a Chair
Professor of the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts and a PhD Tutor of
Chinese Academy of Arts. Fu obtained his Master of Literature degree from
Hangzhou University in 1987 and Doctor of Philosophy from Shandong
University in 1991, under the tutoring of well-known Professor Zhou Laixiang
specialization in aesthetics of literature and art. Fu’s professional
interests include the theories and critiques of theatre, researching on
aesthetics and modern stages arts in China. For the past many years, Fu has
particularly involved himself in preserving and empowering local theatre
arts and advocating the cultural diversity. Fu has been commissioned to
conduct study on Chinese National Arts Subject for both Ninth-Five Year Plan
(1996-2000) and Tenth-Five Year Plan (2002-2007) of China. The former one
Development Study on Reformation of Theatre Arts in the Twentieth Century is
finished and at present, he is directing the latest edition, History of
Contemporary Theatre Arts in China. Fu is the author of numerous scholarly
articles, books and publications. The major books he authored include
Modernity and Indigenity of Chinese Theatre Arts (2005), An introduction to
Chinese Theatre Arts in the Twentieth Century (2004), A History of Chinese
Theatre Arts: 1949-2000 (2002), The Vitality of Grass Roots: The Fieldwork
And Research of Taizhou’s Troupes (2001), On Chinese Theatre Arts (2000),
Perceptual Aesthetics (1997), Chinese Theater Aesthetics (1995),. He is also
a chief editor of in book serials Classroom of Arts and a deputy
editor-in-chief in another book serials titled Oral and Intangible Heritage
of Humanity. Fu’s books have enabled him a winner of China Book Prize for
several times and a nominee of China National Book Prize. Attributing to his
contribution in art critique field, Fu is also a recipient of second-class
Prize awarded by China Federation on Literary and Art Circles, and of
First-class Tianhan Drama Award, and of First-Class Award of Beijing Art
Critiques. He is also a winner of the Seventh Prize of Literature & Art
Thoughts Contending Journal. |
