Based in London, Lu Edmonds has been a professional musician & composer for
over 30 years. Touring internationally with many different types of musical
groups he has recorded extensively in the punk rock, world music, folk, pop
and free improvised scenes. He was also manager & producer for various other
artists such as the award-winning “Yat-Kha” from Tyva Republic (Russian
Federation). He gets involved in music research projects – such as in
cultural tourism (which lead on to the ZIFF – Zanzibar International Film
Festival) and in online music & digital distribution projects (CUIDADO –
looking into MPEG-7 metadata, part of EU programme “Espirit and “Framework
V”). He was also first co-ordinator in 1991 of the Worldwide Music EXPO
(www.WOMEX.com) trade-fair music event, the main music business-networking
event in the world today for non-western musics. Currently working in
Central Asia to build capacity in the creative sector, he continues to play
and compose music.
